Dental trip to Turkey: flights from Tallinn and Riga, and how many trips you may need
How to plan a dental trip to Turkey from Estonia. Which direct flights were in the 2026 summer timetable, why implants often need two trips, and what to ask a clinic before you buy tickets.

Plan first, tickets second
The most common mistake on a dental trip is not the wrong flight. It is a flight bought before the clinic has said in writing how many trips the treatment needs and how long each one is. A remote price and schedule are preliminary. After an examination both the plan and the number of days can change.

Flights from Tallinn
According to Tallinn Airport's summer 2026 timetable (29.03–25.10.2026):
- Istanbul: direct Turkish Airlines flights every day, with two flights on some days. The timetable shows a flight of about three and a half hours.
- Antalya: direct SunExpress flights several times a week through the summer season, with Pegasus adding Sunday flights in October. The timetable shows about three and three-quarter hours.
- Izmir: no direct flight in the summer timetable. You reach it with a connection, for example via Istanbul.
The winter timetable starts after 25 October and may be thinner. Check the airport's current timetable before booking.
Flights from Riga
Many people in southern Estonia consider Riga. On 30 September 2026 Riga Airport's destination page listed Antalya, Istanbul and Bodrum in Turkey. Izmir was not listed. Airlines, frequency and season change, so check them when you book.
If the clinic is in a city without a direct flight, allow for a connection, a longer travel day and a transfer. Those are time costs that belong in the cost comparison even when no invoice names them.
How many trips different treatments usually need
The clinic's written treatment plan sets the number of trips, not this page. The general description below helps you read that plan.

The descriptions come from the patient pages of the Oral Health Foundation, a UK oral health charity. They do not say which treatment suits you. Questions before you buy tickets
- How many trips does the plan include, and how long is each in working days?
- How long must the gap be between the first and second trip?
- Are temporary teeth planned for the first trip, and are they in the price?
- Is the last appointment far enough from the flight for the clinic to check the work?
- What happens if the plan changes at the examination? Can the stay be extended, and who pays for extra nights?

Under Turkey's 2025 health tourism regulation, an intermediary that arranges accommodation, transport and transfers must do so through a licensed travel agency. On request, the intermediary must also give a detailed breakdown of the fees for those services. If a package is a single figure, ask for the breakdown in writing.
Travel documents and insurance
According to the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs travel advice (Reisi Targalt, updated 06.07.2026), Estonian citizens may stay in Turkey visa-free for up to 90 days within six months, and the passport must be valid for at least 150 days from arrival. If you travel on another document, for example an Estonian alien's passport or another country's passport, check the requirements with the Turkish embassy.
Read your travel insurance terms before the trip. Check whether the policy covers planned treatment, its complications, and rebooking a flight if a doctor advises you to fly later. Do not assume ordinary travel insurance covers a treatment trip.
What this means for you
A good travel plan is a copy of the treatment plan in a calendar. If a clinic cannot say in writing how many trips and days are needed, the offer is not finished. Ask every clinic you compare for those lines. Then you can see whether a cheaper offer also means an extra trip.
