Dental warranties from clinics in Turkey: what to read in writing

A warranty is a contract with a named clinic

A warranty is a promise by a specific legal entity, for specific parts, for a specific time, with exclusions. It is not a property of the country. Two clinics in the same city can offer different documents. A ministry authorization, which you can look for on the Health Tourism Department's facility list, does not insert warranty terms into a clinic that has not written them.

Ask for the warranty as a file or a page you can save. A caption on a video is not the warranty.

The clauses that change the value

The FDA describes an implant system as more than one part: the body in the bone, the abutment, and the artificial tooth. A warranty that names only "the implant" may not cover the crown that broke. Ask which part.

The FDA also says smoking may affect healing and long-term success, and that failure can mean another procedure. If the warranty excludes smokers or people who miss reviews, that exclusion should be visible before you pay, not after a problem.

How to compare two warranties

Do not compare "10 years" with "lifetime" until both documents answer the table. A short warranty that pays a return visit can be more useful than a long warranty that requires you to fly at your own cost and arrive within a week. Put the travel line next to the price when you compare quotes.

Keep the brand and model with the warranty. A dentist in Estonia can only talk to a manufacturer or order a part if they know what was placed. The FDA suggests keeping that record. The clinic should give it to you without being asked twice.

What this means for patients

You are allowed to like a clinic and still wait for the warranty PDF. If the clinic will not send it, you do not yet know what "guaranteed" means. Bring the warranty into the price comparison

Put two numbers next to each warranty: the chair-time price, and the travel you would pay if the covered failure happened in month six. You do not need a probability. You need to see whether the "longer" warranty assumes you can fly back at your own cost on short notice. If you cannot, the long warranty and the short warranty are different products.

Ask what a missed review does. Some documents void the warranty if you do not attend a named check. If that check is in Turkey, the warranty includes a trip you have not priced. If a local dentist's letter is accepted instead, ask what the letter must say. Vague acceptance is not acceptance.

Ask about repairs that are aesthetic rather than mechanical: a chip, a shade you dislike, a tooth that feels high. The FDA's risk list includes a bite that does not feel normal and a loose abutment screw. Those are examples of problems that might be a warranty event or an exclusion. Only the document sorts them.

If the clinic is sold

Clinics change owners. Ask whether the warranty binds the legal entity only, and what happens if that entity closes. You may not like the answer. You should hear it before you pay. A ministry list shows who is authorized on a date. It does not inherit a private warranty from a clinic that later disappears.
