What to prepare for a preliminary dental quote

What a preliminary quote can use

A preliminary quote is a clinic's first reading of a description. You can make that description clearer without sending medical files to VeriClinify.

Useful, ordinary information:

• the treatment you think you want, in your own words (implants, crowns, veneers, or "I am not sure")
• which teeth or jaws, if a dentist has already told you
• whether you already have an X-ray, a CT, photographs, or a written plan somewhere else
• your timeframe for travel
• questions you need the offer to answer: brand, provisional teeth, hotel, warranty

That is enough to ask clinics for a structured estimate. It is not enough for anyone to call the estimate final.

What not to upload here

VeriClinify does not accept dental X-rays, CT or CBCT files, photographs of your mouth, or treatment-plan files. There is no upload button to look for. Indicating that a scan exists is the boundary. Do not email images to a personal inbox to get around that.

If a clinic asks you for images, that request is between you and that clinic, after you have decided to share them with that clinic. It is not a request from this website. Read the clinic's own explanation of how they store files. This guide cannot audit that.

Why the quote can still move

The FDA describes implants as devices placed in the jaw after a clinical decision, with healing that may take several months or longer, and with risks that depend on anatomy and health. A clinic that has not seen imaging or examined you is guessing in an educated way. Why a quote can change lists the usual reasons. Use it so a later change is not a surprise.

Tervisekassa's pages are relevant only if you hoped a public fund would need the same documents for reimbursement. A file you keep at home is not a claim. Ask the fund what it actually wants. Do not send health documents to VeriClinify in the hope that we will forward them.

A short pack you can reuse

When replies arrive, put them in the comparison worksheet. Empty rows are questions, not zeroes.

What this means for patients

You can start a comparison without building a medical archive on this site. The case you submit is a description and a set of practical questions. Clinics that reply are offering an estimate. You choose whether to go further, and with whom. If you already have a clinic in mind, you can ask for that clinic to be checked. Checking is not an upload form either.

How to describe teeth without sending a file

Use words a stranger can sort. "Upper left, the tooth behind the canine, broken at the gum" is more useful than "the bad one". If you do not know the name, say so. Guessing a tooth number from a diagram you do not understand creates a confident error.

If a dentist in Estonia gave you a paper plan, you may describe its conclusions in your own words: "my dentist said two implants and a bridge, and I have a CT that I am not uploading". You do not need to photograph the paper for VeriClinify. If you later choose a clinic and decide to share the paper with that clinic, that is a separate decision, under their process, not under this form.

Write your questions at the bottom of the description so every clinic answers them. Brand, number of trips, provisional versus final, hotel if any, warranty travel, and what would make the price change. Clinics that skip the questions have sent a slogan. You can ask again or you can set that reply aside.

What you should still keep at home

Keep your own copies of any images and letters. Note the date and the clinic that took them. If you need a dentist in a hurry later, those copies are yours. They are not stored here, which is intentional. A preliminary quote does not require you to build a second medical record on a comparison site.

Limitations

This page does not list a clinically correct set of radiographs. Your dentist decides what imaging is needed. It does not say that refusing to upload makes a quote accurate. It says the product does not take the files, and a quote without them is preliminary on purpose.
